Molecular Ecology & Phylogenomics Lab at Chosun University

It is a rather well known fact that evolution only works on existing genetic variation. Our research interests focus on how genetic diversity pattern characterized by numerous factors including life history traits, demographic histories and landscape factors. Populations may genetically greatly diverge from one another by series of isolation processes leading to a speciation. The speciation process is likely to leave tractable traces across a genome, which makes genomics a perfect tool to understand evolutionary relationships among intra- and inter-specific taxa.

Current research projects include: (1) Landscape genomics: Influences of landscape factors on plant invasions in Korea and (2) Phylogenomics: A taxonomic monograph of Polygonatum integrated across phylogenomic scales using targeted sequencing of 353 nuclear genes.
